Richard Kiplagat is the Chief Operating Officer at Africapractice, a Pan African Strategic Communications Advisory group. He leads Africapractice operations across our group offices in London, Dar es Salaam, Perth, Casablanca, Johannesburg, Lagos, and Nairobi.

Prior to joining the Africapractice, Richard was the Head of Global Strategic Alliances at Microsoft Africa for five years and was responsible for managing Microsoft’s strategic engagements with development partners and inter-governmental organisations across 47 countries in sub- Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean islands. While at Microsoft, Kiplagat was instrumental in establishing Microsoft’s partnership with The African Union, (AU), African Development Bank (AfDB), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), World Bank and the East African Community (EAC) among other to increase access to technology across the continent.

Richard is currently the Chairman of The Warren Foundation and Jamii Bora Bank and a Director at Brand Africa and Akiba Group of Schools. He has previously served as a director on several boards including Kenya ICT Federation, the Kenya ICT Board, Kenya Youth Business Trust and Kenya National Chamber of Commerce.

He studied economics and political science at the University of Toronto Canada, with a focus on the economics of development.

He was appointed Chairman of the Board on May 3, 2019.
