UFAA feted for best use of ICT in the public service

The Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority (UFAA has scooped a top award of excellence for the best use of Information Technology in the public service.

The award was presented by the Information Communication Technology Association of Kenya (ICTAK) at a function held at Intercontinental hotel in Nairobi on Tuesday (December 8, 2015).

The Authority has mainstreamed ICT under its strategic plan 2015-2018 which aim to develop and maintain a robust ICT system for effectiveness and efficiency in UFAA delivery.

Part of the ICT deliverable has been the creation of a searchable database on the authority website. By typing one’s name, a claimant can identify unclaimed assets and the holder from which they were remitted from. A beneficiary can then fill a claim form online and lodge the claim.

Holders are also able to file their returns online as required by law.
